You know it's summer when the City of Faribault and its Parks and Recreation Department releases the lineup and schedule for its FREE Concerts in the Park series. All concerts are held at Central Park in Downtown Faribault unless you see an asterisk. The concerts will begin next week, June 16th, and run throughout the remainder of the summer!

Here is the lineup with date, time, and location (Central Park unless noted)

Branded: Hot Country - June 16

Branded started with a bang in 2017 in Rochester and has been touring the Midwest ever since. Known as “MN’s Hottest Country Act,” Branded brings high energy fun to all of the hottest current country hits while mixing in a bunch of the crowd-pleasing country classics, and a few rock n’ roll tunes.

Jivin’ Ivan and the Kings of Swing - June 23

Jivin’ Ivan and the Kings of Swing are happy to be a part of the Concert series. We continue to enjoy playing the great swing and show tunes of the 30s and 40s, under the watchful and benevolent eye of our founder Ivan Whillock--who was there! Bring a chair and get comfy but beware-- you may just have to get up and dance!

Mankato Area Community Band - June 30

Starting in 1923 as the Elks Band, the Mankato Area Community Band is a full concert band of over 50 musicians from age 14 to 87. The band’s repertoire includes modern hits, Big Band, marches, jazz, classic, and modern movie tunes. The concert in Faribault will patriotic-themed.

Eclipse - July 7

Eclipse is a versatile and unique duo consisting of Martha Brown on keyboards and vocals and Kathy Wickwire on drums and vocals. Throughout their 25-year history, they have performed on cruise ships and at outdoor festivals, country clubs, and private parties.

Bend in the River Big Band - July 14

Bend in the River is currently one of the top jazz big bands. The band originated in St. Peter when the majority of the players were college classmates under Dr. Mark Lammers. Included in their big band repertoire are the sounds of Duke Ellington and Count Basie to the best jazz and big band composers.

Sawyer’s Dream - July 21

Sawyer’s Dream is an established original Minneapolis-based 70’s styled Americana vocal harmony band with elements of pop, country, soul, and R&B, featuring powerhouse female lead vocals and intricate harmony arrangements, much like the Mamas & the Papas, ABBA, and Fleetwood Mac.

Los Rebeldes - July 28

Los Rebeldes (The Rebels) is a Mexican-American group based out of southern Minnesota and has been performing since the early 1980s. Their style from the north blends with traditions of the south to bring the musical styles of Tex-Mex, Conjunto, Country, Folk, and Cumbia alive on stage.

Top Shelf - Aug. 4

Top Shelf is a group of experienced musicians from the Twin Cities who are brought together by a love of high-quality music and sharing it with people who want to have fun! We play a variety of Country, Rock, and Pop hits mostly from the 1990s to today, plus some older classics from the 70s and 80s that everybody loves.

Kids Dance - Aug. 11

Kidsdance DJs are spinning the hottest new music, the coolest classics, & non-stop contests - activities for today’s absolute best parties. Kidsdance DJs are America's source of family fun! Kidsdance has a format that can target all ages - toddlers, teens & everyone in between.

Little Chicago - Aug. 18

Little Chicago is a cover band for hits of the 60s and 70s, based in New Prague. The band has informally been together for over 15 years. The horn band plays pop/rock music, with a smattering of country and features hits by such famous groups as Chicago, Blood, Sweat & Tears, The Grass Roots, and more.

Dalmar Yare - Aug. 25

Dalmar Yare, a Minnesota resident with relatives in Faribault, is known throughout the world, and often performs internationally. The Somali entertainer has described his music as a blend of traditional Somali styles with hints of western influence. Join us for a great performance!
