Hayfield, Minnesota is 150 years old.  In honor of this event today through Sunday over 40 events are taking place featuring something for everyone.  Children, teens, adults and the whole family.

A few highlights include a teen dance tonight, children's play this evening and a family movie in the park.

Friday there is a golf tournament, quilt show, family bingo, school tours, variety show, campfire with music, adult street dance featuring "County Line Drive."

Saturday a 5K Run/Walk, pancake feed, carnival, sports tournaments, garden tours, flea and farmer's market, chicken fry, history exhibit & panel, field of flags, Roosters baseball game, Ray Sands and the Polka Dots, adult street dance featuring "Time Machine."

Sunday join in a community worship service, Omelets & Bloody's, horseshoe tournament, car show, vintage fashion show, community photo, pantry tour, kiddie parade, grande parade, magic show, farm petting zoo.

Hayfield Township was established in 1872.  The town was incorporated in 1896.

The name was adopted from a township of Crawford County in northwestern Pennsylvania.

Hayfield had a station of the Chicago Great Western Railroad; the Vernon Co-operative Creamery near Hayfield was the oldest farmer-owned creamery in the state.

US Census for 2020 showed a population of 1,352 for Hayfield compared to 1,345 in the 2010 census.
