Funeral Planned Monday For Fallen Owatonna Soldier
Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) - A young soldier from Owatonna will be laid to rest on Monday.
The Minnesota National Guard says the visitation for Private Connor McGurran is taking place this afternoon(3-5 PM) Washburn-McReavy Nokomis Park Chapel in Minneapolis. An interment ceremony will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at 9 AM Monday and will be followed by a funeral mass at Our Lady Of Peace Catholic Church in Minneapolis at 11 AM.
The 19-year-old man joined the National Guard and was assigned to Fort Jackson in South Carolina for basic training. He died January 8th after he was found unresponsive following a training exercise. Officials have not disclosed any information concerning the cause of his death.
