St. Francis, MN (KROC-AM News) - A fire on Thursday in east-central Minnesota resulted in the deaths of over a dozen dogs.

Two GoFundMe sites have been created to benefit the owners of the rural St. Francis township home that was destroyed by the blaze, which also housed their dog kennel and breeding business. One of the fundraising websites indicates Jodi Dovel was a premiere breeder of Australian Shepards and 13 of her prized show dogs were killed by fire.

A statement posted by the Isanti Fire District says it appears the fire was accidental and related to the heating system.
