Farmamerica Announces That Meat-a-Palooza Postponed or a Year
Farmamerica regrets to announce that its annual Meat-a-palooza event originally scheduled for August 11, 2022 will be postponed for a year. Farmamerica is a non-profit agricultural interpretive center, in Waseca MN, that connects people with the evolving story of agriculture through educational hands-on experiences like historic farm tours, day camps, and family-friendly events, partnerships, and community engagement.
According to Farmamerica’s Executive Director, Jessica Rollins, “with the continued high cost of fuel and food into the near future, it feels inappropriate to ask our generous food and drink vendors to travel to Farmamerica to support our fundraiser at this time.”
While the Meat-a-palooza is cancelled this year, it will be back on August 10, 2023. As stated in a newsletter about the cancelation, Meat-a-palooza is typically Farmamerica’s biggest fundraiser of the year, with “food and spirit tasting from a number of different Minnesota-based companies including meat cutting demonstrations, and the opportunity to personally meet and converse with the experts behind the products, many of which are local farmers.”
Rollins points out that “This event is more than a fundraiser for Farmamerica because it highlights Minnesota-made products and celebrates the experts behind those products. Attendees not only enjoy the amazing products grown here but talk directly with the farmers and local producers responsible for the food and drink they partake in at the event.”
While it is sad to see that this event is postponed, it seems to be the right thing to do. To learn more, you can join their newsletter list. All information is provided in their recent newsletter.
