Many of you know that I come from that big city every day to work. I came down Sunday in anticipation of the storm. After a long day in the station on Monday Jerry helped me make sure I could get my truck out.

Did not have much trouble moving, having 4 wheel drive. But went to go find something to eat, and many places were closed. Restaurants, fast food places, it looked like a bit of a ghost town, I know folks in Mankato and Owatonna felt the same with their high snow totals.

Finally found one of the big town grocery stores open. They had shut down their restaurant and deli due to the weather but I was able to grab some packaged deli stuff and come back to where I was staying and have dinner.

Our previous record for snow Monday was 7 inches I think in 2005. We shattered that. 14.5 and more in Faribault and 17 in Owatonna. Other totals coming out later.

Many school announcements and many that are 2 hours late may change once we hit daylight and weget an update on roads so keep checking back and stay tuned.
