Late last year we learned that Minnesota based restaurant Famous Dave's was getting a new name on the stock market. They would go by BBQ Holdings hoping that they could expand their brand over time. According to Bring Me The News, they are doing exactly that by buying their parent company.

Famous Dave's parent company, Granite City has 25 locations in 13 states according to the article. These restaurants are known for their patios, local craft beer, and brunches. Apparently, they wanted that "small-town craft brewery feel." Granite City had five locations in Minnesota. Well in December, the company filed for bankruptcy which gave BBQ Holdings a new opportunity.

In a press release, Chief Executive Officer of BBQ Holdings, Jeff Crivello said that acquiring this new business is great because it helps the company achieve its goal of expanding their brand into other restaurants. Which they have already been working on. In that same release, information about two other restaurants was mentioned. BBQ Holdings have opened Clark Crew BBQ in Oklahoma City and Real Famous BBQ in Utah.

There is no information in the press release about what the plans are for Granite City, so I guess only time will tell us.
