The 5th Annual Family Day is at the Faribault Farmers' Market this Saturday in Central Park.  Rice County Public Health SHIP (Statewide Health Improvement Partnership) Coordinator Josh Ramaker and Faribault Farmers' Market organizer Russ Bauer were guests on today's KDHL AM Minnesota Program.

The day is filled with fun for kids especially but designed to provide a welcoming environment for people of all ages.  There will be games, animals, food and information about various community groups.

Ramaker was unsure what animals might be there but in the past there have been rabbits, goats, chickens and even a cow.

Bauer told AM Minnesota listeners it's a great opportunity to educate everyone about how much work goes in to growing the food that lands on their plate.

Each kid over the age of 2 receives a $2.00 Allina Health Bucks voucher to purchase something at the market.

There will be food samplings and face painting for the kids in attendance.

The event typically draws about a dozen additional vendors to Central Park in Faribault.

The Faribault Farmers' Market runs 7:00 a.m. to Noon on Saturday with Family Day activities beginning 9:00 a.m. and concluding at Noon.
