Dodge County Attempted Murder Suspect Could be With Wife/Girlfriend
Mantorville, MN (KROC-AM News) - Dodge County Sheriff Scott Rose says a man wanted in an attempted murder case could be traveling with a woman described as his wife or girlfriend.
A news release issued Monday afternoon says 27-year-old Rigo Eleazar Macias, aka Alejandro Torres Lopez or just Alex, was driving a 2013 gray Ford Taurus sedan registered to 27-year-old Elvylinda Favela Perez when he allegedly cut the throat of a 62-year-old Rochester man and then threw him off the Milliken Creek Bridge in rural Dodge County last Wednesday The 2013 car was issued Minnesota license plate ECH680. Anyone who was seen either of the two individuals or the vehicle is urged to call 911. The Sheriff says Macias is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
Dodge County officials earlier stated that Macias is facing a first-degree attempted murder charge in the case. After a witness reported seeing the victim being thrown into the creek, the 62-year-old man was found hiding in a wooded area near the bridge bleeding heavily from a large laceration across the front of his neck. He was transported by Mayo One to St. Mary's hospital and underwent emergency treatment.
Sheriff Rose says investigators had to wait a few days to interview the victim, who provided them with additional information that led to the identification of Macias as his alleged attacker. The victim told investigators he worked under Macias, who used the Alejandro alias, at Rochester Cheese. The Sheriff says it is believed the violence was drug-related.
