Delays Possible on Highway 14 in Rochester Starting Monday
Here's a head's up about a road construction project on a busy highway in southeast Rochester that could affect your commute this week.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation was out with a warning on its Twitter page over the weekend about a project that could make your drive to and from work in southeast Rochester a little longer starting Monday, August 17th.
It's all because of work being done on the Highway-14 bridge over the Bear Creek. Specifically, MnDOT said, the westbound lanes of Highway-14 between Marion Road and 11th Avenue Southeast could be seeing delays this week, as traffic will be down to one lane only as crews work to reconstruct several bridge joints where the road crosses Bear Creek, the release noted.
And if you were wondering, yeah, that's a busy stretch of road too. In fact, MnDOT said the road sees an average of 23,100 drivers each day. And, thanks to that stretch around the bridge down to one lane, delays could be possible during the busy morning and afternoon commute.
