Today was very hot, but, that did not stop people from coming to the 19th Annual CulturFest at Wilson School. There was something for everyone, from crafts, to demonstrations, to food from all over the world. I had a great time walking around and checking out all of the different countries being represented as well as helping out in the Scotland booth. No, I am not Scottish, however, the sport of curling comes from Scotland, so I was there with my daughter talking about curling in Owatonna, as well as the history.

I got to have sambusa, a Somali dish, along with bur, a type of flatbread. We also sampled a wonderful apple dessert with chili powder and gummy type candies. We also drank a lot of water, did I mention it was hot today?

We got to see some wonderful dancing, watched a parade, and heard some great music. Several of the school age children took part in the Passport Program, so they tried to visit every booth to get their passports stamped.

I am already looking forward to next year.
