According to a press release from Winona County, a COVID-19 Outbreak has been linked back to numerous sporting events.

In the release from Winona County Health and Human services, the outbreak was traced back to several sporting events that were held in Lewiston. It is recommended that if you attended any of these events that you get tested for COVID-19 and recommend a 14-day quarantine even if the results come back negative.

The said dates and events are:

  • July 26: unorganized basketball game at Crossings Center (170 S Fremont St.) in Lewiston
  • July 27: morning football camp and evening basketball camp at Lewiston-Altura High School
  • July 28: morning football camp and evening basketball camp at Lewiston-Altura High School
  • July 29: 7-on-7 football at Paul Giel Field in Winona
  • July 29: Lewiston Farmer's Market
  • July 30: evening basketball camp at Lewiston-Altura High School
  • July 30: unorganized basketball game at Crossings Center (170 S Fremont St.) in Lewiston

The ages and number of people who have contracted the virus is unclear. The news of the outbreak come days after the MSHSL's decision to move Football and Volleyball to the spring.
