The City of Owatonna announces a pair of archery deer hunt seasons, running from November 3-24, 2018 and November 25-December 21, 2018. The registration deadline is September 14. A non-refundable $12 fee is required.

Anterless deer may be harvested from Manthey Park, Cashman Park, Kaplan's Woods and Parkway, North Straight River Park Area, Leo Rudolph Nature Reserve, Hamman Park, Kriesel Park and Maple Creek Parkway. After an antlerless deer is taken, hunters can Earn-A-Buck.

Fifty applicants will be drawn and will get a chance to complete a proficiency test with the equipment they intend to hunt with. From those who pass the test, two sets of fifteen will be randomly drawn for permits to each season.

Find the application by clicking here, through the city's website, the parks and recreation website or at the parks and recreation office at 540 West Hills Circle. All Minnesota Department of Natural Resources rules apply. No permanent deer stands are allowed. Hunters must be at least 18 years old. No crossbows are allowed.
