Owatonna Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism (OACCT) Ambassadors cut the ribbon on the new headquarters for Mohs Contracting and Mohs Homes. Their new building is at 1330 State Ave NW. The chamber's e-newsletter Tuesday Talk states, "Mohs Contracting specializes in complete start to finish commercial construction for all types of projects from storefront rehabs to new construction."

The business just marked its 15th year. In a news release on the Mohs Contracting website, President Scott Mohs says, "We are so proud to serve not only the Owatonna community but communities in this region and beyond with quality construction." Mohs began the company in 2006.

In other news from OACCT, the Steele County Works signing day is Wednesday, May 26 upstairs at Torey's Restaurant in Owatonna. Family and friends will attend as local high school students are recognized for their desire to jump straight into the workforce.

The chamber congratulates MainStreet Director Shirley Schultz who is retiring at the end of June. "For the last four years Shirley has led the MainSteet Owatonna initiatives including: MainStreet America Strategic Plan, Downtown Thursdays, Wayfinding, EDA Facade programs, Streetscape planning, flower basket program, farmers market, OBP work and much more."

OACCT will hold a groundbreaking for the downtown Owatonna hotel project on Thursday, June 3 at 5 pm in the vacant lot in the 200 block of North Cedar.
