Faribault Bethlehem Academy senior Khrystjan Petersen had a magnificent recovery on his back nine today at the MSHSL Class A State Boys Golf Tournament at Pebble Creek in Becker.  Petersen and his Cardinals teammates started their rounds on the back nine.  Petersen had the low score for the team and was 8 over par after the first nine holes.  At that point he was in 44th place.  He is now in 6th place.

The future Gustavus Adolphus College golfer flushed that round and was the only golfer in the field of 87 to post an under par for nine holes.  He shot a 2 under 34 on his back nine.  The front nine of the course.  Petersen is still 6 strokes behind the leader for medalist honors with a 18 hole total off 78.  The leader is sophomore Brett Reid of Community Christian in Willmar with an even par 72.  Reid shot even on the front and back nine.

There are a handful of other guys ahead of Petersen.  Senior Alex Iverson of Park Christian had a 74 (37-37), Junior Mason Kretsch of Springfield completed a round of 75 (39-36), teammate sophomore Maverick Winkelman had a 77 (38-39).  Senior Harrison Patzer of Lac Qui Parle Valley achieved a 77 (39-38).  Sam Frazee of North Woods shot a 79 (37-42).

Six golfers shot under 80 in the wet conditions.  The rest of the BA team scores are:
