Austin, MN (KROC AM News) - Police in Austin responded to two shootings in less than 20 minutes Monday night and at last report, suspects were still being sought.

The first incident was reported just before 10:30 PM.

Three people who had been sitting in a car said they were fired at. They told officers “two unknown subjects, wearing dark clothing and hoodies, got out of a white Impala and started shooting towards them.” No injuries were reported. Officers found a dozen shell casings at the scene.

The second shooting was reported minutes later from a home occupied by two adults and an 11-year-old girl. Five bullets were recovered from inside the house and 11 casings were found outside.

The car suspected of being involved in the first shooting was also found nearby. Austin PD described it as "an Illinois plated 2012 white Chevrolet Impala sedan."

Police do not think the victims in the house were connected to the earlier shooting and  “It appears that they were mistakenly targeted.”
