Allina Hospital Faribault Operations Director Says Seek Care

The Operations Director of Allina Hospital in Faribault Rick Miller told KDHL AM Minnesota listeners today, "We're here to care."  Miller says they've done a lot of things over the last few months, "To make sure that we can provide safe care."

"When you come in there's screening questions you'll go through.  There's masking which you should be doing all the time.  Hand washing, hand hygiene which have always been a key point within the hospital.  It's just been emphasized even more."  Miller added.

"I really think it gets down to quality of life. If you have some chronic issues that you're dealing with, you're having significant pain or issues please come in and get care."

Miller says, "There are other options as well.  The clinic offers a lot of remote care opportunities .  Doing it on your iPhone or doing it on a computer. I would say call.  Get in touch with Allina Health.  We're happy to help you.  There's a lot of different avenues we can do but please don't delay the care."

Staying well Miller adds, "Is important and part of that staying well is making sure we take care of some these things that are bothering us.  If pain or those types of things are keeping you from things then we want to have that conversation with you about how we can help guide and help you along that path to be able to do the things you want to do."

Dr. Timothy Kaiser, orthopedic surgeon was also a guest on the program.  He specializes in sports medicine.  He grew up in the Tampa, Florida area where he met his wife from Eagan, Minnesota.  Upon completion of school they were looking to go where they wanted to start a family and chose Lakeville, Mn.

I talked about my arthritis pain and Dr. Kaiser says the amazing thing about the human body is, "The more you use it the more the joints work better actually. We want people to stay active throughout their whole life. I get a little frustrated when I hear patients saying they want to slow down.  I want them to be active as much as possible for as long as possible."

The "Light Up a Life" Faribault Area Hospice tree lighting campaign will take place on December 7, 2020.  It will be different due to COVID-19 and Miller will come back on KDHL to give more details on November 30.
