5 Years For 55 Pounds of Meth From Rochester Drug Bust
St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester woman has been sentenced for a drug trafficking conviction stemming from the discovery of a large shipment of methamphetamine from Mexico last year.
A spokesperson for the US Attorney for Minnesota says 24-year-old Tiffany Gauthier appeared before a federal judge on Tuesday and was given a five-year prison sentence along with another two years of supervised release. She and 30-year-old Steven Lindquist entered guilty pleas to federal counts of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine last October. He is scheduled to be sentenced on March 3rd.
The two Rochester residents were named in a federal indictment handed down last July that stemmed from an investigation that resulted in the seizure of 55 pounds of methamphetamine found in a truck parked outside Gauthier's southwest Rochester home last May. It was described as the largest ever single methamphetamine seizure in southeastern Minnesota.
This case was a joint investigation between the DEA, the Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office, the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office, and other members of the Southeast Minnesota Violent Crime Enforcement Team (VCET).
