5 Joyful Things to do During Steele County’s Christmas in the Village
Well, there's no snow in the Village of Yesteryear for this year's Christmas in the Village. So what? Maybe some people like it better with the warmer temperatures! The Steele County Historical Society hosts their annual event Friday, December 3 from 4:30 to 8 pm and Saturday, December 4 from 10 am to 2 pm.

FANCY COOKIES - GET THEM FAST
Even before Christmas in the Village begins, you can stop by the Steele County History Center to pick up some treats at their Fancy Cookie Sale. That runs Wednesday, December 1 from 1 to 7 pm and Thursday, December 2 from 10 am to 4 pm or until the cookies are sold out! (I wouldn't wait to the last minute, if I were you.)
SANTA and MRS. CLAUS
Stroll through the luminary-lit Village grounds Friday and see Santa and Mrs. Claus.
CHRISTMAS TREE
Find the decorated Christmas tree in the general store where kids can find a take-home craft and a postcard to send to Santa.
DUNNEL HOUSE
Walk through the crown jewel of the Village of Yesteryear, the Dunnel House, where each room is decorated for the holidays.
EXHIBITS IN THE HISTORY CENTER
While you are taking in Christmas in the Village, the Steele County Historical Society invites you to check out the Country School, Parochial School, and American Legion exhibits on display. There is also a craft sale in the Wenger Room.
The historical society's Holiday Lights Cruise continues through the holiday season. Pick up a list for $10 from the History Center, Prairie Home in Blooming Prairie or Lerberg's Foods in Ellendale.
