Volunteers Sought for Village of Yesteryear Cleanup Day

Volunteers are needed for a cleanup day at the Village of Yesteryear on Saturday, April 29. Hours will be 9AM to noon. The tour season begins May 1. Cleanup tasks consist of sweeping and mopping floors, emptying trash, dusting furniture, counters and artifacts. The outdoor decks need power washing, burned out light bulbs will be replaced, the popcorn machine needs to be cleaned and the outdoor furniture needs to be brought out and set up.There is also a need for the raking and picking up of yard litter.

Volunteers will be instructed on the proper way to handle historic artifacts.

To find out more or to sign up, call Mary Ann at (507) 451-1420. Volunteers should bring gloves and wear closed-toe shoes. Rakes, brooms and cleaning supplies will be provided. Treats will be served.

People of all ages are invited to help out with the cleanup.
