Tuesday's high school sports schedule was dotted with action in lacrosse, baseball, softball and track and field. But the weather has forced some changes.
The stakes were high Friday for several local teams. Owatonna softball lost to Lakeville South while Blooming Prairie softball and NRHEG baseball won elimination games.
Owatonna softball beat Austin in their playoff opener Wednesday, then lost to Hastings. Huskies baseball hosts Winona on Thursday to open the section playoffs.
Owatonna High School girls fast pitch softball goes to Hastings on Wednesday to open Section 1AAA play. They will face Austin at 3:30PM. The winner plays the Raiders at 5:30PM.
The annual early season slow pitch softball tournament raises money for the Owatonna Park and Recreation youth scholarship fund. A record number of teams appear this year.
Seven Owatonna High School teams hit the fields, tracks, courts and courses on Tuesday. Northfield got the better of the Huskies in baseball, softball and boys lacrosse.
