A teen group from Ohio with one name who hit it big in New York with the known ... The Music Explosion, according to classicbands.com.

The Chosen Few were made up of 18- and 19-year-olds. Jamie Lyons (vocal and percussion), Burton Stuhl (bass), Rick Nesta (guitar), Don "Tudor" Atkins (lead guitar), Dave Webster (drums). They had a hit in the local area, "Little Black Egg."

The Chosen Few were discovered by Andy Apperson and he made a call to New York. The group went to New York and their name changed to The Music Explosion.

The new Music Explosion recorded some songs they wrote as a group and "A Little Bit O' Soul" was added in by the recording manager. It was a Top 10 Hit in 1967. The Music Explosion began touring with Dick Clark's Caravan of Stars, that included Percy Sledge, Gene Pitney, Neil Diamond and Johnny Rivers. The group was also on American Bandstand.

Some of the members were "drafted" as Burton Stuhl put it. Members left and new members were added. The name changed to Crazy Elephant, who eventually disband.

Original members of the Music Explosion, Rick Nesta and Burton Stuhl regrouped and would play at fairs and festivals in their six state area, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, Pennsylvania. and West Virginia.
