Two sisters and a friend once formed the group but then left for college as a one-hit wonder, years later reunited -- The Murmaids.

The Fischer sisters, Carroll and Terry, along with their friend Sally Gordon were The Murmaids, according to history-of-rock.com.

They lived in LA. Mr. Fischer was a music arranger and director. While in high school, they were friends with Mike Post, according to classicbands.com. Post would ask them to sing background on his recordings. A producer heard them and in 1963, before going off to college, The Murmaids recorded "Popsicles and Icicles," which was written by David Gates. He eventually became the frontman of the group Bread.

The song was close to a chart topper, No. 3, and little success after that. The three went off to college and The Murmaids members changed to Cathy Brasher and Yvonne Young in 1966. Their single "Go Away" did poorly. The group disband.

The Murmaids original three did regroup to go on tour for the first time, according to classicbands.com. Gary James interviewed Terry Fischer-Siegel.

They first appeared on stage at Greek Theatre after some rehearsing. The Murmaids carry their charts and a band is provided. The group has been to Detroit, Reno and oldies shows. Fischer-Siegel mentions they sing some songs from The Andrews Sisters also.

Years later, they found out that after the first recording, an album was made but The Murmaids were unaware of it. The group remembers they were even asked to pay the record company for their time.

Terry Fischer-Siegel said that as they are touring now, it is fun. The Murmaids are meeting people that are happy to hear them again and bringing back good memories.
