As we learned Tuesday, the NCAA, the NBA and a lot of other larger events are taking extra precautions when it comes to preventing the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19). Most of them have either decided to cancel their events or postpone them to a later date to ensure the health of everyone involved. According to WCCO, the Cross Country Ski World Cup was set to take place in Minneapolis this weekend. Officials have decided to cancel the events to prevent the chances of spreading the Coronavirus.

The article says that this international cross country ski competition was going to kick off on Saturday and roll through Tuesday. Organizers of the event expected around 20,000 fans to make their way to Minneapolis to see and take part in the event. After the organizers talked to folks at the Minnesota Department of Health and other health care producers, the organizers felt this was the best decision to protect the athletes and fans according to the article.

Safety is the number one priority, but it would have been awesome if the event did happen because the article says this would have been the first time in almost twenty years a nordic ski competition would have taken place on American snow. Hopefully, once health care officials get the Coronavirus under control, some of these fun events will come back.
