Woman Retrieving Sandal on I-35 Struck By Semi
Last month we heard of the party coming to a stop on Highway 14 for crossing ducks resulting in a multiple vehicle accident. Monday afternoon another quirky accident took place in southern Minnesota. A vehicle traveling on I-35 had pulled over to the shoulder at mile marker 3 south of Albert Lea. The vehicle was occupied by two Ohio residents. A 34 year old female went onto the freeway to retrieve a sandal that had flown out of their car. A northbound semi operated by a Wisconsin man moved from the right lane to the left lane to avoid the female. The woman's right foot was struck by the front right passenger side tire of the semi.
The woman was taken to the Albert Lea hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The incident took place just before 5:30pm on Monday.
