What’s It Take To Get A Star On The Walk Of Fame?
The first star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was placed down in 1960. It's not just a case of a bunch of folks saying you should get one and then that's that.
Of course you first have to be nominated or at least make it known that you would like a star. You need to put in writing that you want one and agree to be on hand for the unveiling. Next up, it's not free. You or somehow someone has to come up with around $40,000 for the star along with maintenance fees. You then have to be selected by a board and agree to throw a party.
This year's newest stars include some country music names such as Faith Hill, Dolly Parton and Linda Ronstadt. Read about more of the others here.
Some of the more interesting characters and people that have a star on the Walk of Fame include Kermit the Frog, Snow White, Big Bird, Muhammad Ali and Weird Al Yankovic among others. You can get a star after your death but you need to be dead at least five years.
Here's to the newest additions of 2018.
