On Saturday the Hermantown Hawks boys hockey team finished their season in the best possible way, by winning their 4th Class A state title after a tight championship game at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.

As expected, the top-rated Hawks had their hands full with second-seed Warroad. The two teams had faced each other in January at Hermantown and that game went to overtime before Hermantown earned the victory.

Saturday's game was a back and forth affair to start, with Warroad scoring the first goal of the game. Hermantown tied the game and the first period ended at 1-1.

The next period would be the difference in the game. Junior playmaker Zam Plante scored two second-period goals to send the Hawks (29- 2-0) to their first Class A title since 2017. Congratulations Hawks on the 3-2 victory and well deserved state title!

Late Saturday night, Andover claimed the Class 2A state championship, winning a double overtime thriller against Maple Grove.

Once the tournament was over and we knew who claimed the championships, it was time to focus on an even more important matter and one that's become an honored tradition. Which hockey players had the best hockey tournament hair?

As is always the case, there was a wide variety of hair styles to see but only a select few can make the 2022 Minnesota State High School All Hockey Hair Team.

As you can see from the video, which was released over the weekend. I'm sure you'll agree that all are worthy of this honor, but it's not a shock that Hermantown once again come out on top.
