The judges on the Voice were shocked by what they heard come out of the 6'4" 300lb former Minnesota Viking's mouth.

Esera Tuaolo, who still lives in the Twin Cities, retired from the NFL in 1999 after a total nine seasons. He was with the Vikings from 1992-1996. Since retiring he has performed the National Anthem before both Viking and Packer games.

Last night he displayed his range by singing a version of Andra Day’s popular hit ‘Rise Up. (Watch his audition above.) Jennifer Hudson and Blake Shelton both hit their buttons, signaling they wanted Tuaolo on their teams. The former defensive linemen chose to go with Shelton.

The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 7pm on NBC.

It'll be fun to watch Esera this season!.
