Viracon, one of Owatonna's largest employers, has a new CEO. Apogee Enterprises, the parent company of Viracon, recently named Ty R. Silberhorn as its new Chief Executive Officer. The Owatonna Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism (OACCT) included a news release from Business Wire in their recent edition of the weekly e-newsletter Tuesday Talk.

Silberhorn comments in the article, "I am honored and excited to have the opportunity to lead this great company. Apogee is an established leader in its industry with a long history of growth and providing exceptional value for its customers." Silberhorn is coming to Apogee from 3M where he has the position of Senior Vice President of Transformation, Technologies and Services.

The move follows the announcement of the retirement of Joseph F. Puishys. The news release states, "Silberhorn will become the fifth CEO in Apogee's 71-year history." He spent over 20 years with 3M.
