Undated (KROC AM News) - As of Sunday afternoon, the young boy who was thrown over a third-floor rail at the Mall Of America Friday was still alive.

A family friend of the 5-year-old boy’s family provided this Sunday afternoon update on the GoFundMe site that was established Saturday:

“Thank you so much everybody for your continued support through donations and prayers! We are all completely overwhelmed with the love and support that has come our way during this tragic time. The family has asked for continued privacy during this time, but we want to keep everybody updated to how Landen is doing. He had a peaceful sleep and is still continuing to fight his courageous battle, he's a strong survivor! No other significant updates at this time, but please continue to keep him in your prayers. We will continue to keep updating as we can. Thank you all and God bless!”

The response to the GoFundMe site has been incredible. The initial goal was $50,000 but it was eventually raised to $500,000 because of the flood of contributions. As of 2:30 PM Sunday, the fund total had risen to $435,000.

The man who threw the boy was apprehended and may be charged Monday with attempted murder.
