The U of M Extension will be offering a Tractor and Farm Safety Certification program in Owatonna this June. This course is for youth who want to learn more about farm and tractor safety when operating farm equipment with more than 20 horsepower. It's for those age 14 and older.

The cost of the course is $25. It consists of an online portion which students can work on over a one to two week period. There is also a two day in person training which includes a written exam and talks by Extension Educators and community members. The final exam includes a skills test on a marked course and a demonstration of the student's ability to hitch and unhitch an implement.

The in-person portion is scheduled for June 26 and 27 at Kibble Equipment in Owatonna. You may register at the U of M Extension web site. You may also call Claire at 507-444-7691.
