Townsquare Media Faribault/Owatonna To Broadcast Area Graduations

It would be an overstatement to say the graduating classes of area high schools have had an average year. This spring was the first time there were no curtain calls on their athletic careers with the cancellation of spring sports. No spring plays, concerts, robotics competitions, or prom. One thing that IS going to happen is graduation. It's going to look and feel different with only two approaches being allowed, either video or a 'drive-in' style graduation. Townsquare Media Faribault and Owatonna stations KDHL, AM 1390 KRFO, Power 96, and Kat Kountry 105 will be helping to bring graduation ceremonies to our listeners and the communities we serve beginning on May 29th.

On Friday, May 29th, The Mighty 920 KDHL will be broadcasting Zumbrota Mazeppa's graduation ceremony starting at 6:30pm. Also on Friday May 29th at 7pm Bethlehem Academy's graduation ceremony will be broadcasted on Power 96. On Saturday, May 30th The Mighty 920 KDHL will be broadcasting Randolph's graduation ceremony at 7pm. (There is a rain date of June 1st at 7pm for Randolph's graduation.) On Sunday, May 31st Kat Kountry 105 will be broadcasting Blooming Prairie's graduation ceremony at 11am, and at 1pm The Mighty 920 KDHL will be broadcasting Kenyon Wanamingo's graduation.

On Sunday, June 7th, AM 1390 KRFO will be broadcasting Owatonna's High School Graduation from the West Parking lot of Federated Insurance, and The Mighty 920 KDHL will air the graduation broadcast from Faribault High School. Both ceremonies will start at 2pm.

By offering our signals up to area schools for graduation we are hoping to offer up a special moment for these graduating Seniors. We know graduates won't be able to throw their caps, or share in that moment of walking across the stage in front of their entire family and friends, but we hope to offer up some normalcy from their cars and trucks.

We reached out to our area schools' superintendents and activities directors in April before an announcement was made by the state on graduation, and these were the schools that we heard back from that wanted to utilize our radio stations' signals for either drive-in style graduation and/or simply to air the ceremony for the community to hear. We wish we were going to broadcast every area school's graduation ceremony.
