Just the Facts also salutes the retirement of a longtime officer. The end of January marked the completion of Captain Eric Rethemeier's career in Owatonna. "He has been a constant around the office for many years. Rethemeier started his career with our department on November 29, 1993 as a patrol officer. He held several titles during his 28+ years at OPD."
Promotions included investigations September 1998, patrol Sergeant April 2004, and Captain of investigations April 2008. He also served as interim chief June through October 2010.
