Red, White, and Thank You is the theme for this year's Veteran's Day meal at Cashwise Foods in Owatonna. Veterans can come to the store and receive a free chicken dinner meal between 11am and 7pm Thursday November 11th.

Cashwise Foods will also offer up the same meal to those joining the veteran for 50% off. The meal this year will consist of two pieces of fried or grilled chicken, with two sides a dinner roll and a beverage.

This is not the first time that Cashwise Foods in Owatonna has offered up free meals for area veterans, the free meal has been offered up to area veterans for several years now.

The team at Cashwise Foods feels it's just one small thing they can do for those who gave their time and talents for our country.

According to MilitaryBenefits.info Coburn's locations are also offering a similar meal and deal for veterans.

  • Duck Donuts in Woodbury is offering two free donuts for veterans or active duty personnel who come in and show their ID
  • Glensheen Mansion in Duluth is offering free admission Nov 6-8 for all veterans
  • Whalen's at Westfield in Winona is offering free Veterans Day carryout, sponsored by Rollingstone Jaycees from 2 to 5 p.m. there will be enough to pass out 300 meals

Across Minnesota, there will also be various observances on Veterans Day, and several businesses and government buildings will be closed for the observance. If you are planning on going somewhere on Veteran's Day you may want to call ahead to make sure the place you're heading to will be open.
