This Hot Air Balloon Festival Gives You Stunning Views Above Historic Stillwater
Imagine floating high above the St Croix River Valley, taking in the sights of frost-laden trees as you bob up and down slightly from the basket of a hot air balloon, lingering in the air above historic Stillwater. This could be you, at the end of the month at the Fire & Ice Winter Social.
On January 28th and 29th, Lowell Park in Stillwater will be hosting a Fire & Ice Winter Social that will feature hot air balloons, ice sculptures, an ice cream social, and fire pits for those attending to enjoy.
According to the Facebook event page:
Bundle up and join us for some family frozen fun! Come out and watch these vibrant balloons take to the sky* in an array of colors and decorations. Both Friday, 5-7 & Saturday, 4-7 evenings will feature a "Moonglow" - a unique, experiential spectacle of fire amid the ice. Feel the heat as the hot air balloon basket flames are ignited with the frozen River in the background!
*If balloons are unable to launch and fly due to weather, the balloons will still be on display, and pilots are available to answer questions, and take photos.
