With over 1.8 million LED lights, animated lights, a synthetic skating rink, and a warming house, this Southern Minnesota Christmas display is like no other.

This insanely popular Christmas extravaganza opens on November 26.

Each year, Sibley Park in Mankato, Minnesota, is over-taken with dazzling holiday lights. It's so eye-catching that even Santa stops in to visit every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night from 5 pm to 9 pm through December 19th.

This free-will donation drive-through display is a project created by the Mankato Kiwanis Club and is volunteered operated. Throughout the years, 14,250 volunteers have participated. This is no small operation!

Driving is the most popular visiting option, but brave souls can walk the display as well. If walking casually, you can get through the exhibit in 10-30 minutes.

The red highlighted part of the map is the holiday drive. Traffic must enter the park on Sibley Parkway. (Walkers, on the other hand, can enter on Mound Ave and under the Railroad Trestle on Woodland Ave.)

As mentioned, the event is free, but donations are gratefully accepted. If willing, instead of a monetary donation, you can donate non-perishable foods. Throughout the past nine years, the Kiwanis Holiday Lights Project has collected 108.7 tons of food for 19 area food shelves.
