New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva graduate Carlie Wager lived her childhood dreams by playing for the University of Minnesota. Another dream came true Thursday night when she was drafted by the Minnesota Lynx.
NRHEG Falls to Maple River
Maple River rallied in the second half for a 61-57 win over New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva in the boys' basketball 2AA South Subsection final Monday night at the Taylor Center at Minnesota State Unversity-Mankato.
NRHEG Wins on Late Free Throws
Top-seed New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva boys' basketball team was locked in a tight back-and-forth playoff game with Blue Earth Area, a team the Panthers had beaten by 32 points on February 20. The defending section Panthers pulled out a 49-47 victory in the Section 2AA south subsection semifinals at Mankato East High School on Brady Agrimson's two free throws with :02.5 remaining.
NRHEG, Medford Girls Eliminated
Hopes for an all-Gopher Conference subsection final in 2AA girls' basketball were dashed by the Big South Conference as Blue Earth Area beat NRHEG 52-45 and St. Peter topped Medford 59-26 Friday night at Mankato East High School. The Bucs and Saints will play for the south subsection title Tuesday at Minnesota State-Mankato. NRHEG won the section crown in 2017.
NRHEG Girls on Kat Kountry Friday
The Medford and NRHEG girls' basketball teams play subsection semifinal games Friday at Mankato East High School. The Tigers (fifth seed) face top-seed St. Peter at 6PM. The defending section champion Panthers (third seed) meet Blue Earth Area at about 7:45PM. The NRHEG-Blue Earth game will be on 104.9FM and the new Kat Kountry 105 app.
