The Minnesota Lynx announced Tuesday they had waived New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva graduate and former University of Minnesota Golden Gopher Carlie Wagner.

The Lynx drafted Wagner with the 36th overall pick in this spring's draft. Wagner appeared in two preseason games and scored four points on 2-for-4 shooting while playing 25 minutes. The Lynx roster is set at 12 for their season opener Sunday.

Wagner finished her Gophers' career as the third-leading scorer in program history and was an All-Big Ten selection as a senior. Wagner, a 5-foot-10 guard, led NRHEG to back-to-back state championships in 2013 and 2014 and is the second-leading all-time scorer in Minnesota prep girls' basketball history.

Wagner is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection and was honored by the Sports Information Directors Association for her academic success as well.

The Lynx also released Jillian Alleyne Tuesday. She was a second-round pick of Phoenix in 2016. Just one rookie made the roster for the defending WNBA champions. Endy Miyem is a 6-foot-2 forward from France.
