Verdick says the approximately 50 million construction project is currently approximately 2.5 million dollars under budget and 3 months ahead of schedule.
Verdick told Commissioners the low bid on Phase One of the Finance Department remodeling was provided by Met-Con Construction of Faribault in the amount of $24,000. Despite the concerns voiced by Commissioners they unanimously approved accepting the bid and moving forward with the project.
Brian Peterson, Northfield Township Supervisor presented a petition with 104 signatures requesting #4 be adopted. Representatives of Morristown Township, Erin Township, Walcott Township, Bridgewater Township, Shieldsville Township, Wheatland Township, Wheeling Township, Cannon City Township also voiced their support for #4.
Commissioner Jeff Docken reminded his fellow County Board members there will be a farewell event for Sheriff Dunn from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2021 at the Rice County Government Services Building in Faribault.
The County Board also voted to hire Contegrity Group Incorporated (CGI) to be the Construction Manger for the new Law Enforcement Center/Jail. The firm is based in Little Falls, Mn.
