Owatonna Mayor Tom Kuntz says moving 17 inches of snow from 160 miles of city streets is a monumental task. He spoke on KRFO radio Thursday as the city continues its second pass around town with the hopes of having roads scraped to the bare pavement by the weekend.
Owatonna is among the top five finalists for the Minnesota Monthly publication's first-ever Best MN Town contest. The Owatonna Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism invites community members to be part of the unveiling party to be held November 30 in downtown Minneapolis. In their weekly email newsletter, the chamber included the link to get details and order tickets for the party.
Owatonna had the most votes in online balloting for the inaugural Minnesota Monthly Best Minnesota Town contest. While winning in a bit of a landslide, it still only represents a quarter of the overall calculation in the naming of the winner of the contest.
