Central Park Faribault

All the money stays local so Faribault area residents can benefit.

The Central Park Memorial Day Program begins 10 to 15 minutes after the conclusion of the parade.

The Pet Parade began in 1931 and is believed to be the oldest in the nation. Blue Collar is Friday and Saturday with a Friday night car roll-in. Live music begins 5:00 p.m. Friday night and Saturday features 12 hours of music.

The Kid's Fun Run is always a great start to the Grand Parade which is scheduled to start at 6:15 p.m. and goes from Second Avenue Northwest to Central Park. This year's parade features most of Faribault's living former Mayors as Grand Marshals.

After two weeks last year, 16 trees were donated to St. Vincent De Paul in Faribault where they find needy families who receive the trees to enjoy for the holiday season. This year there were 37 trees.

I don't profess to be a music critic but thought Los Rebeldes (The Rebels) was very entertaining. A lot of their music could be played during the Old Tyme segments on KDHL. The same kind of beat. Danceable music featuring accordian, trumpet, guitar and drums.

The neat thing about the Faribault Pet Parade is the fact you don't have to have a pet to be in it.
