The Northfield Police Department is investigating a possible drug overdose death. On Tuesday, July 3rd the Northfield Police Department responded to a report of an unresponsive female at a residence on the 500 block of Wilson Court. After arriving at the residence officers and medical personnel determined that the victim was deceased. Evidence in the immediate area and information from family members indicated that the female may have suffered from an accidental drug overdose of heroin.

The deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Tessa Jean Schultz. The Northfield Police have asked the media and the public to respect the family's grieving and wishes for privacy during this matter.

Northfield Police Investigators and Agents from the Cannon Valley Drug Task Force were notified and responded to the location and continue to investigate. The Hennepin County Medical Examiners Office is conducting the autopsy and other related medical tests.
