Study Reveals America’s Most (And Least) Patriotic State
Are you proud to be an American? Maybe, but you'd be hard-pressed to be as proud as the people in this state.
WalletHub has gotten into the Independence Day spirit with its list of the most patriotic states in America.
The rankings were compiled by looking at two fields -- military engagement and civic engagement -- which were then broken down into 13 different categories.
With all that taken into account, the most patriotic state is -- drum roll, please -- Virginia, which edged the state on the extreme outpost of the country, Alaska.
The top 10 was a real hodge-podge of location -- south, east and west are all represented -- but the least patriotic states had a common bond, with the lion's share of those coming from the East Coast (New Jersey has the dubious honor of placing first).
