Spring and summer road construction in the area begins this Monday, April 1 with the replacement of the SW 32nd Avenue bridge over the Straight River in Somerset Township. SW 32nd Avenue from SW 68th Street to County Highway 31 will be closed to through traffic for the duration of the project which is expected to last around 4 months. The road will be open to local traffic up to the bridge.

The new bridge will be a 60-foot 3-span concrete slab structure which will replace the structurally deficient bridge that was built in 1964.

A reminder to use common sense and caution when traveling in a construction zone. Slow down and be alert.
