The Steele County Free Fair is requesting nominations for the Livestock Hall of Fame and Livestock Service Award. The nomination deadline is May 1.

Each year the Steele County Fair recognizes new members for the Livestock Hall of Fame. A news release from fair director of public relations Todd Hale states, "The Livestock Hall of Fame is based on impact/influence upon the livestock industry in the county, state and national level." The length of service time, leadership roles in the industry and accomplishments are also considered.

Mark Ihlendfeld was honored with induction in 2016. Find the nomination form here.

The Livestock Service Award is not intended to be an presented every year, although 2016 saw the first recipient with Ron Eustice. This award goes to someone who started through the youth programs in Steele County, but has moved on to make contributions at state, national or international level. An individual can work in livestock production or related fields to be considered. Get the nomination form.
