You're invited to join the Steele County Historical Society for a family-friendly afternoon of Halloween fun in the Village of Yesteryear this Saturday, October 29, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.

Your family will enjoy trick or treating, creepy crafting, scary story time, and a spooky scavenger hunt -- all while enjoying the unique setting at the Village of Yesteryear.

The Village of Yesteryear

The Village of Yesteryear is located in Owatonna at 1448 Austin Road, near the southeast corner of the Steele County Fairgrounds.

From the Steele County Historical Society website: In 1962 the Society was offered the Saco Church located 7 miles southwest of Owatonna, and with the support of the Steele County Agricultural Society, the Society permanently leased a portion of the southeast section of the fairgrounds to begin a pioneer village. Thus was established the Village of Yesteryear, which has grown in the years since through the additional move of historic structures, as well as museum buildings built on site.

Being new to Owatonna, Amie and I toured the Village of Yesteryear this summer at the 2022 Steele County Fair, and absolutely loved it. Such an amazing undertaking and so well preserved. Fun to walk through all the old buildings -- and the perfect spot for this weekend's Halloween event.
