Southern Minnesota Heroin Dealer Sentenced For Customer’s Death
Faribault, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Faribault man serving time for selling a significant amount of heroin has had his prison sentence extended because one of his customers died from a drug overdose.
30-year-old Anthony Fugalli was given a 94-month prison sentence after he recently entered into a plea agreement to settle the criminal charges that were brought against him following the death of 38-year-old Jason Madow. He was found dead in his Faribault home on June 19, 2018. Fugalli later admitted selling the victim heroin that had been cut with fentanyl and recently entered a guilty plea to a second-degree drug offense in exchange for the dismissal of a third-degree murder charge.
Following the fatal overdose, Fugalli was also charged with a first-degree drug sale for agreeing to sell more than 10 grams of heroin to another person several weeks before the deadly incident. Fugalli entered a guilty plea to the charge in the fall of 2018 and was sentenced to 78 months in prison.
The judge presiding over the deadly overdose case agreed to allow Fugalli to serve his new prison sentence concurrently with the sentence he began serving in September 2019. That means, with credit for good behavior, his conviction stemming from the death of the other Faribault man would extend his time in prison by about 3 years.
