Signs Pointing to Fans at Twins Home Opener
With the official word expected from the State of Minnesota any day now, signs are pointing to a limited amount of fans being allowed at the Minnesota Twins home opener on April 8th.
Fans were not allowed in the stadium last season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Last month the team sent a proposal to the governor, unveiling a partnership with 3M to create a safe environment for a limited number of fans for home games. The request proposed a 10,000 fan limit for the April 8th home opener and other early season games on the schedule.
According to a story by KSTP-TV's Tom Hauser, a source inside the governor's office said the Twins will get some kind of direction from the State this week on whether fans will be allowed at the home opener, and if yes, how many.
A limited number of fans have been allowed to attend Twins spring training games at Hammond Stadium in Fort Myers, Florida -- but Florida's larger venue guidelines are not currently the same as Minnesota's.
The Twins open the regular season April 1st against the Brewers at Milwaukee's American Family Field, where it has already been announced that a limited number of fans will be allowed to attend.

I still have my Minnesota Twins home opener tickets from last April on the front of my fridge. I'm dreaming of sunshine, a couple of beers, a hot dog or two -- and live Minnesota Twins baseball at Target Field in 2021.
