Sign of the Season – the OHS Carolers Are Out and About
It's hard to miss those red and green capes and hats, and those voices, they just blend so well together. I can't even imagine how much practice it must take to sound so well as a group. I'm talking about the Carolers, a staple of the Holiday Season right here in Owatonna. When I first moved to town, I saw them perform at my employer. I didn't realize how much of a huge deal this group is.
Now, more than 20 years later, I am always pleasantly surprised when they are performing somewhere that I can hear them. They did perform in Central Park on November 29th, right after the Lighted Holiday Parade, and they will continue throughout the month of December. It just doesn't seem like Christmas unless I have seen them at least once.
Last night, while enjoying supper and fellowship with friends at Bethel Church's Community Supper (served every Wednesday from 5-6pm, and open to all, free-will donations) I saw the Carolers walk in. Yep, I was excited to see the Carolers, remember it just doesn't seem like the holiday season unless I have seen them at least once....They don't perform for very long, but, it is always enjoyable. And, it's a relatively new choir, with several new members.
