Today is National Junk Food Day, and what is better than celebrating with Minnesota’s most popular snack item! But first, let’s go over some of the most popular snacks of all time!

An article from Thrillist.com has listed the 100 greatest snacks of all time and even ranked them. While I will not be providing all 100, you can check out the list here, but I will provide the top 10 for you!

At Number 10 is Fritos. Not one of my favorites but it is a classic staple for a salty snack; salt, oil, and corn, you can’t go wrong!

Number 9 is Gummy Bears. While there are so many different kinds of gummy snacks out there, nothing beats the original gummy bears!

At number 8 is Cheez-its! This used to be a favorite of mine when I was a kid, and as Thrillist mentions, the extra toasty version was revolutionary and is definitely my favorite version.

Number 7 is M&M’s. If my heart belongs to any chocolate candy, it is M&M’s. These have just always been a staple for a chocolate snack (aside from Hershey’s chocolate). And just like Cheez-its, the many different varieties are so unique and delicious that it’s hard to choose!

At Number 6 is Cheetos. Another favorite Staple of mine, you can’t go wrong with Cheetos! These seem to be the best kind of cheese-like chip on the market!

Number 5 is Goldfish. Hey, nothing makes you happier than the ‘snack that smiles back.’ Also, a fun fact, the creator of Goldfish created the snack because he loved his wife and wanted to give her a present. And since her Zodiac sign is a Pisces, he thought that this would be lovely.

At number 4 is Reece’s Peanut Butter Cups. This makes sense, as there is no better combination than chocolate and peanut butter! And when they are in the shape of an easter egg or a tree, it’s a game changer!

Number 3 is Pringles. A chip that is crispy enough but most importantly extremely flavorful is one that will win! And since Pringles come in many unique and amazing flavors, it only makes sense it’s number 3.

At number 2 is Oreos. I think we can all agree when we think of cookies or junk food, we all think of milk’s favorite cookie! This is a classic you will never live without! And there is even a gluten-free version that tastes exactly like the original!

And finally at number 1 is Doritos! I was surprised at first, but after thinking, this seems right. So many imitators have tried to achieve what Doritos has done, but no one can come close! And the cool ranch flavor is the best, hands down!

Now, for Minnesota’s top junk food/candy! It was hard to get a straight answer because a couple of sites said it was Apple Crumble, which I would not be surprised. But according to eatthis.com, Minnesota’s favorite junk food/candy is Snickers! So whether it is an apple crumble, a Snickers, or any junk food really, have something delicious to eat today!
